J. Allen Kline
J. Allen Kline, 59, of St. Petersburg, passed away suddenly on Aug. 19, 2011.

He is the former owner of St. Petersburg Termite & Pest Control, Inc. Allen’s life for the last 19 years has revolved around his recovery and helping the still suffering alcoholic and addict. Allen was a devoted long-term member and DJ of The REBOS Club.

Originally from Fort Washington, MD, Allen was predeceased by his father, Lieutenant Colonel Jack Kline, director of “The President’s Own” Marine Band of Washington, DC, and his wife, Martha Kline. Allen is survived by his long-time life partner Nancy Everhart; sister, Terrill Kline; niece, Jessica Weidner; stepchildren Amanda and Jeremy Booker & Jeffrey and Shannon Longfellow; grandpa to Ezra Booker; and devoted father to his beloved, loyal canine companion, Calvin Kline.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 25th at 4pm with a party immediately following at Civitan Beach Club, 18604 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores. Please feel free to bring a covered dish.

Oh my, I wonder how many words they will allow me to write, cause i could fill this with so many memories of you, Allen...You would help me from all my problems I would have, and always have me laughing, leaving your office...how you loved your sister! When you would talk of her, your whole face would light up, and watching that, i became closer to my family. I see people using "hero"...you sure were! I will hold a special place in my heart always for you Allen...you and Rick were like brothers to me...and now both are gone...I love you Allen, and i know your in good hands now!! And that we will all see you again! See you then my Friend!

I met Allen in Ft. Washington, Md. I had just moved in the neighborhood and was befriended by Doug Dix and was introduced to Allen. We became close friends and had a high school experience that is worthy of a movie like Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Whenever we got together, it was just as fun to recount all those crazy days. But more than that, his home was always open to all of us. I was fortunate to know and love his parents and his beautiful and talented sister, Terri. I am so glad that Allen made his way, on this long walk of life, to find recovery....and grateful to all that helped him to learn to live every day and be the person he was born to be. He will always have a place in my heart and mind. To this day....I can see his face, always making fun, when I try to be serious. He was always genuinely happy to see me and any of our mutual friends. My heart goes out to all who loved him, he will be missed. Rest in peace my dear friend and say Hi to Aunt Martha and Daddy Jack for me.

Nancy I am not sure if you even remember me... I was lost when I was so Blessed to fall into to the rooms of REBOS. You and Allen were always good to me... It was a long time before I even realized you and Allen were a couple. In our recovery making that time we need is absolute... Allens' example taught me so much... His kind heart towards everyone was always a delight to catch a few minutes to talk was always encouraging. Allen I am so Grateful you had handed me a Green Bucket of paint when REBOS door needed painted.... He taught me - I need to keep it Green. Ironically 2 weekly later, I was very frustrated still a newbeeie and was ready to all but throw my hands up and say "I give up..." I came to the GREEN DOOR... I made me realize I didn't want to be back out there... I stopped and asked for help. My son found his way into the rooms of recovery also, and may I add, how grateful I was to hear Allen and my son had become friends. Thank you Allen for being there for the most important person in my world. My Son just told me today about your passing... I told him, Allen will be watching over him. I know he has earned his wings. I am very certain Allen has huge angel wings... if they are sized by the kind of person we are when we are here on earth. Nancy my thoughts and prayers go to you... also of family and other friends too. My heart has been saddened today of knowing of our loss of Allen. Allen you willbe loved and live forever in our memories. May God Bless you, He Blessed us with you touching our lives.
